As the Driver, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager you will ensure the provision of safe, timely transportation for all residents. This role is responsible for providing transportation in coordination with the nursing and activity departments to and from doctor’s appointments as well as planned activities.
 
Essential Duties include the following:
  • Assists residents in and out of the van/bus at all times
  • Interacts with residents, maintaining positive relations
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the van/bus at all times
  • Immediately inform the Executive Director of all current/potential repairs
  • Maintains open communication lines with the Activity Manager
  • Creates and follows the driving schedule as directed by the Activity Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of previous experience in a senior care community with proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines simultaneously.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the heart and passion to work.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
  • Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, and to work well with many interruptions.
 
Education and/or Experience:
  • Associate Degree and 0-2 years of experience, preferred
  • High School diploma or GED and 2-4 years of experience
  • Valid State Driver’s License (Class E required)
 
Other Qualifications:
  • Ideal to possess a basic knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care.
  • Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, associates and the overall community.
 
Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Publisher applications.
 
Physical Demands:

To perform this mission successfully, an individual should possess the physical ability to lift/move 50lbs, maintain a stationary position, move freely, operate equipment, ascend/descend freely, position self to reach equipment above or below normal standing height, and communicate with team members, residents, and residents’ family members.
